<p>Gold Mining: The Race to Ravenous Ruin - Carson Creek Trail Hike<br />Saturday, November 29, 2008, 9 a.m.</p>
<p>Were the &quot;glory days&quot; of the gold rush as glorious&nbsp;as you imagined? Enjoy spectacular lake views as you walk along with Ranger Kevin to discover the lives of the gold miners; the hardships they endured and the glories they celebrated. The origin of names for many of our local areas will also be revealed. </p>
<p>This is an easy 3-4 mile hike. Meet at the Glory Hole Entrance Station at 9 a.m. Participants will receive a parking pass for the duration of the event. We will caravan down to the trailhead parking. </p>
<p>Bring plenty of water and clothing appropriate for the weather. All hikes are weather permitting. </p>

<p>This is a moderate to strenuous, 1 mile, downhill hike. Participants may return uphill on their own. Meet at the Natural Bridges Trailhead on Parrots Ferry Road. </p>
